We're proudly raising a nerd. Since infancy, Samuel has watched Jeopardy with us. Together, we would crush any family trivia night. Mike's strengths are history, science and random facts. Shanna's lie in pop culture, religion and the arts. Samuel? Science, aviation, American history, engineering and Disney.

TRAVELING
We've been to a few places with Sam, but have a thirst to see and explore more of our beautiful Earth. Together, we've seen Disney World and experienced the Magic of the Mouse three times, we enjoyed a cruise in the waters of the Caribbean Sea (again, with Mickey), we've visited Mexico twice, ate Cuban sandwiches in Miami, read the Constitution in Philadelphia and enjoyed the lush beauty and amazing history that lies in the island of São Miguel, where Shanna's parents were born and raised. Mike's visited Lisbon, the land of Benfica, and one day soon, we hope to visit together.
Bucket list locations: Paris, Rome, Disneyland, London, Lisbon, Bora Bora, Napa Valley, Chicago, every state in the USA, Germany and Disney World, over and over again.

CHOCOLATE CRINKLE COOKIES
It's a family recipe of Michael's that Shanna perfected and tweaked to make it even more chocolaty. Baking is a favorite pastime for us, and you cannot go wrong when powdered sugar is involved.

Just kidding. They drive us crazy, but our son Sam enjoys it, so we join in on the fun. Currently working on a 1,969 piece Saturn Apollo V rocket - bringing two of Sam's loves together: aeronautical engineering and finding all the little bricks before Mommy steps on them.

NIKON CAMERAS
We both shoot with Nikon professional grade DSLR cameras, and lenses, and carry a battery of back up equipment. Well, Mike carries it officially, but we have it with us in case something happens. My favorite lens is my 85mm 1.8. She's buttery smooth and never lets me down.

THE CROWN & OTHER HISTORICAL DRAMAS
Claire Foy was a better QE2 than QE2 herself. All kidding aside, we've come to love watching shows and movies about the British monarchy, that focus on real life situations (like the Newsroom) or medically based (like The Good Doctor.) Together, with our boy, we're learning through the words of brilliant screenplay writers and through the eyes of remarkable directors. And thoroughly entertained.

Our son is quite truly every bit the coolest kid out there. He's seven and can out trivia both of us in history of America, aviation and aeronautical design. Truth. We're using Google a lot.
