This beautiful wedding in Newport, Rhode Island on a gorgeous spring day cannot be describe in enough adjectives. It was an amazing day - from start to finish. Mike began with the gentlemen at David's parents home in Westport while I began with Jocelyn at her parents home in Swansea.
I've known David for quite a long time. He's our son's first soccer coach, and he is a middle school teacher where Sam is in elementary. Always a smile on his face, I was thrilled when he began talking about his engagement and hiring us as his photographers. His fiancée, Jocelyn, also happened to be a nurse with one of our brides from 2017 (Hi Shelly!). Small world alert. It was meant to be.
The boys enjoyed getting ready together, opening their groomsmen gifts and taking portraits with Dave's pup. The girls got their glam on with the very talented Trinity Kizer and enjoyed Pizza, thanks to Jocelyn's dad. It was a relaxing morning, leading up to their beautiful ceremony at the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Fall River, Massachusetts. David proposed to Jocelyn in the very church they got married in.
The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Jay Mello, the pastor and school administrator where David teaches, with his three altar servers middle school students of his. Many students were in attendance, as well as a full church of family, friends and colleagues to witness their beautiful wedding.
After the ceremony, we did the no rain dance and headed to Brenton Point in Newport, where the ever gutsy bride climbed in a ball gown on slippery rocks for "the shot." (The groom did too... and his shoes were probably even slipperier.) And boy did we get one... We got several! Those moments together, followed by the photos taken on the grounds of their reception space, Ocean Cliff in Newport, were so laid back and fun. It was the theme of the day.
The ballroom was elegant and full of lush flowers. The speeches made everyone laugh (and David cry). And the party never stopped. It was a night of absolute beauty and a true celebration of love. Friends and family alike joined the couple to watch the sunset outside, a stunning view near Newport Bridge of a cotton candy sky.
The memories created at this wedding are some to cherish forever. Dave and Jocelyn were gushing over their sneak peeks all the way from their Tahiti honeymoon. #jealous
