timeline
No two weddings are the same, nor do they run on the same schedule. Because we want to capture as much of your day as possible, we have come up with a timeline template for you.
RINGS, DRESS, SHOES, AND OTHER DETAILS
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 15 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Bridal preparation location (hotel suite, family home, etc.)
Having at least 15 minutes for details ensures we have plenty of time to get the perfect photo of your details before you put them on. Please remember a copy of your invitation, and ask your friends to keep the space tidy, and ready for photos.
PREPARATION
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 30 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Bridal preparation location (hotel suite, family home, etc.)/Groom prep location
During this time, we are getting the last minute touch ups to hair and makeup, your candid moments between the bridesmaids, groomsmen, your squad.
Shanna always starts with the bride, and Michael with the groom. As you dress for the day, add your earrings, fasten your cufflinks - we're capturing every emotion of anticipation and excitement.
OPTIONAL FIRST LOOK
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 45 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Venue garden, areas with shade and natural light (we can help you)
During this time, the bride and groom enjoy seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day, and while it only takes 5 minutes for the actual first look, we use the rest of the time for portraits of the two of you, in various poses and styles.
WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 30 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - We can determine this based on your location and venue
Wedding party photos include: individual shots of you with each wedding party member as well as fun group shots, classic poses and authentic reactions to YOUR love. We like to vary our bridal party poses and strive to get photos of you all with your personalities shining.
IMMEDIATE FAMILY
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 10-15 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - We can determine this based on your location and venue
It is truly important to have additional images with parents, grandparents and siblings beyond the basic formal images. Plan on about 2 minutes per group (if you have 10 groups, plan 20 minutes.)
CEREMONY DETAILS
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 30 minutes before ceremony
IDEAL LOCATION - Ceremony site
Before your guests are seated, Michael will capture images of the very important ceremony site, completely set up with no guests or vendors in the area.
OPTIONAL EXTENDED FAMILY FORMALS
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 20 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Reception Site
Depending on how many groups and how much light we have left, we may want to host these images during a lull in dinner. Otherwise, we invite all of your VIPs to join us for a quick portrait session, including close friends, immediate family and extended family.
COUPLES SESSION
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 15 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Venue
Typically during the start of your cocktail hour, we like to take advantage of the beautiful evening glow and capture a few more images of you together before you join your guests.
RECEPTION DETAILS
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 15 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Reception Venue
Please allow 15 minutes without any vendors or guests in your reception room, completely set up, so Shanna can focus on the details of your celebration, whilst Michael captures candids of your guests at cocktail hour. Please allot an additional 5 minutes if you would like to see your room before your guests have entered and capture some incredible images on your dance floor.
PREPARATION
IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT - 10 minutes
IDEAL LOCATION - Your Venue, at Dusk or Night Time
We will sneak away from your reception for a few moments of solitude, using light and interesting aspects of your venue (lights, archways, fountains, cityscapes) for some of our favorite photos in our portfolio - after all the excitement, the nerves, the food... Now, it settles in. You're married and your new life as husband and wife has begun.
